You make a good point I went back and assigned numbers to each rifle.

#15 in the brochure is Adolph but I do not believe that #3, now RIFLE No. 2 is Adolph.

The Maple stock RIFLE NO. 3 I believe is a poor refinish of an earlier stock but could be wrong. Better pictures would help.

This is Hoffman No. 100

RIFLE NO. 7

All these pictures and information is because I'm trying to sort out what I feel was an unknown person working at G&H who then moved to Hoffman.

I've looked at some of these pictures for years so it's time for new eyes on them.

All the carved stocks at Hoffman were attributed to Wright, trouble is there were three of them.

The father John R., oldest son John R.Jr. and younger son Samuel G Wright.

I had always thought that the father came to Hoffmans straight from England then brought over the two sons. I now know that is wrong.

So......Three Wrights make a Petrov wrong.

A little more information.

I now have the dates that each Wright arrived in American so I now have to try to correlate dates with rifles, a big job.

Also in the works is a rifle marked "John Wright & Sons" when more info is received I'll post here.

I could use some more of Steve's critique. One purpose of these post is to get new eyes on an old subject. Criticism of the helpful kind is always welcome!

Along the same line of research could anyone put me in touch with an owner of any sporting bolt action rifle marked "W. C. Scott & Co"?
