It is only a Darne, if, in fact, it says "Darne" or "Halifax" on the opening lever. "Francisque Darne" or anything else, doesn't count.
The photos show an 1894 patent sliding breech gun. It may be an actual Darne or a copy. My money would be on a Francisque Darne, oweing to the shape of the breech balls. It would appear to NOT be a mono-bloc gun also, meaning if it is an actual Darne, it is an old one.
Francisque Darne was Regis Darne's eldest son, who hung out his own shingle in 1910. He perished in 1917, but, his company soldiered on until 1955.
