If i were investing two years in a hunt or even a fishing trip I would be thouroughly familiar with the equiptment i was going to use. It is recomended to clean these triggers with naptha to make sure they are clean before any adjustment. I would follow factory procedure to set them around 3# and locktite the adjustment screws. Spend a fair amount of time in practice with the rifle in various weather conditions.
Both of my 600s have spent a lot of time hunting with out a malfunction of anykind and will continue to do so.
My 700BDL and 40X are shot from a rest as singleshots so the triggers are at 6oz. I only load them when i shoot them If I need a safety I raise the bolt handle. I did check the safetys after reading these posts and they do work. I suspect contamination is the problem with this trigger design.
I agree with you Remington needs to improve theit quality control and customer service.
