If you were buying a dvd/video to introduce kids to the basics of shooting trap, what would you buy?

Maybe the NRA shooting safety video or something. As for "how to hit targets," trap or other, forget it. Find coach/instructor who has a lot of experience teaching kids to shoot, and who has the demonstrated ability to take kids who have never shot before get them to spanking targets very quickly.

Kids will not learn proper technique from a video. Heck, adults seldom will. They need a hands-on instructor o/wise all kinds of problems creep in.

Trap I am not certain of, but I do know that Todd Bender has some great videos for skeet.

I concur with CUSH, though. A good coach is the best route. I was fortunate to learn from my Dad and local folks, then had the honor of learning from John Satterwhite. The best shooting experience I could have imagined.

When learning from members at the club, and other clubs, take all the pointers that work for you and make it into your method of shooting clays.

You may want to try to obtain a copy of Trapshooting with D. Lee Braun. Both his Trap and Skeet books were excellent, especially for the day.

Good luck!
