after reading every coaching text on the planet that I could get holda, and running thru all the advice with an adjusto stock, Yardley's comment seems to hold the most water - or as much as any. The stock should be long enough to keep your nose off of your trigger hand. The obvious reason being that the shorter the stock the faster you can turn as the center of mass for the gun/shooter system (which is all that REALLY matters Rocketman haha)is more compact - And it really does make a difference - ain't been everywhere but I never saw a long stock at a pigeon ring or a bunker.
I know the old wives' methods are better of course so these PBS are just FWIW
