I was shooting at the Westervelt Log a Load Children's Hospital shoot this past Friday. I was fumbling around trying to get shells from one side and save hulls on the other as I opened the gun. My left little finger was below the action and as it opened it sheared off a tripple ought buck sized piece of the pad on the finger tip. Hurt like hell and I was dripping blood all over the place. Someone happened to have a bandaid in their wallet so after a hankerchief compression I was able to wrap it tight enough to stop the bleeding. It was a 686 Sporting Clays model. Ended up with my best score there ever but will certainly be more careful in the future.
