Something about the barrel marking bothered me a bit so I made a Cerosafe chamber cast and the result surprised me. I then made a dimensional drawing of the cartridge that reflected the casting and emailed it to Allen Loenvik in Norway. He is a cartridge collector that specializes in Newton & Adolph. He and his circle of contacts could not identify this cartridge. A friend offered to machine a dummy round in aluminum from the drawing I made and it is shown above along side a 1936 vintage 6.5x54K round. You can see why the 6.5x54 would chamber and fire. If Michael still has the drawing, maybe he could post it and possibly someone may have additional information. I am entertaining the theory that what we have is exactly what the barrel marking says it is...a "25 Adolph Express". This is the only one to surface at this point but there may me others out there. All comments welcomed.

Don, Resend me the drawing and I'll post it.
I also send this link to Jim Foral who collected both Newton and Adolph cartridges.

The drawing that Michael put up is the one used to machine the dummy round. BTW..the dummy cycles through the action, both feeding & extracting perfectly.

Very interesting, thanks for posting it. I hope I didn't overstep my bounds posting the other.
