How were the original ones made? Casting? Forged?
I bought a steel shotgun style plate at a gun show this last weekend, purported to be a Winchester one. It was a lot cheaper than the Treebone one that I got last year that I promptly filed smooth.
Anyways.... This one has a filligree of cast marks on the inside,has been refinished at least once, and is still nicer than what I had, so I grabbed it. Just wondering if I have an original or a repro.
Shoulda thought to grab some screws... Next time...if I remember.
