Dished cheek stock, it sounds like what in Britain is called a central vision stock. I remember many such guns at the Cogswell and Harrison shop when it operated at Piccadilly 113.

The Wenig New American stock follows this concept minus the dishing. The Wenig is straight, no cast off, but the comb side is offset to the right.

Speaking personally, I prefer the removal of material from the left side for correct head and eye placement as opposed to stock bending. Seems that those that try a Wenig are happy with it. I built a stock along those lines and it turned out well.
