"canon de surete" refers to one barrel, they are made one at a time, after all. Canon Faure lepage, would imply that Faure-Lepage only made one barrel which makes no sense.
In english, "Safety barrel", vs "barrels by xxx".
Of course, Faure-Lepage sold guns made in Belgium: most all the Paris retailers (Guyot, Gastinne, Pirlet-Badin,...) did so. I only sincerely doubt of the connection to Lepage in Liege.
Last time I stopped by 8 Rue de Richelieu, the Faure-Lepage shop was a going out of business clothing store. Sigh...
