Geno, the clue is in your very first post: It's a Belgian gun, imported to France. Looks like a decent boxlock, but nothing out of the ordinary. Very different from a gun that Le Page would have made in France. I'd say just an inexpensive import sold by Le Page, not a "fake"--since the Belgian proofmarks already tell us it's not a French-made Le Page.

Raimey, the hyphen would not necessarily help. Verney-Carron . . . that's one family, not two. Or at least has been for well over a century.
