About 5-6 years ago, I had Gunter do the same thing to a late non-indicator field grade NID 410 that was a beater, but had ejectors and a Miller single trigger. The wood was total trash and it has 0 finish. I had bought it late 70's-early 80's out of Louisiana, where it had led a hard life and had stashed it away all those years. The results were remarkable--just like your gun. You have a beauty and Grade 3 guns are fairly rare, esp in a 20 bore. Most guys would make the jump from a Grade Two to a Grade Four. Gunter makes good use of the ICD wood that he has left. I've got a bunch of it myself, waiting for the next project that may never come. Congrats you on rehab. Shoot it in good health and Merry Xmas. Mike, Bill, Thanks for the compliments.
Bill, If you ever consider letting that 410 go, let me know.

Stunning 20 Chuck !
I suspect many here have guns that they are into for more then they could get for them, what counts is the results. That way that one came looks when your where done explains why we spend the money.

Congrats Chuck! I just purchased an Ithaca Lewis Grade 3 that was rebarreled by Lefevere. I plan on doing something very similar like what you have done. Did Gunter handle the case coloring?

Nice looking gun, Chuck. Hey, we all have our money pits: Restocked (southpaw, no less) Tobin 16, wood and labor by Randy Murray. I finished the wood, and Ahlman's did the checkering. I remember telling Klunk I had about $1500 into it, and he laughed, but, enough time has gone by that I suspect I could come close to covering my expenses, if not the effort. Do enjoy your gun, Chuck. Best, Ted
