With this gun, just about any clothing more than a regular weight shirt is likely to do that. That said, these jackets were not particularly bulky, so I wasn't looking like a polar explorer out there, but yes, I was over-insulated in retrospect.

However, consider also that it is a goodly distance from the truck at times and if I twisted a knee or broke a leg, I'd probably be hypothermic pretty damn fast out there too, so erring on the high side isn't a bad idea.

When hunting hard and long, one can find that extra layer pretty comfortable when one stops for a bit of a rest or during that long slog back to the truck against the wind and as the sun goes down. In the end, there is no prefect solution other than MORE GUNS. I need a 3-layer gun, a 4-layer gun, etc.... And my poor wife seems to think that just one gun for each day of the week and two spares for holidays should be enough! smile
