Their levers were one piece, not split, straight or pistol grip. Factory pistol grip M 1895s were dropped when they went to the two piece lever. However some pistol grip stocks were made, but they used the straight tang and lever. The Whelen '95 was altered aftermarket. And done very nicely at that!
