Thanks for the link. I own & have owned several repro's over the years and I have looked at one heck of a lot of them besides that. In all of these I have never seen any of them marked for chokes anything other than the standard chokes they offered.

Has anyone else seen any other markings? If not marked as such, there would be no way to tell if the chokes have been altered unless you had the original box and paper work which would verify the custom ordered constrictions.

IMO, Opening the chokes on a repro isn't a big deal if it will make you happy as the owner. The 28" barrels are a good example of this. A good portion of the 28" barrels & almost all of the 28ga 28" are choked M/F. Opening these chokes only makes them more useable as a shooter. But even with that said, if I had a new in box repro that I had put away for the long haul, there is no way I would alter the gun from the factory spec's
