Happy New Year!

AK weather here, Bright & sunny, 8" snow, 11 degrees and blowing 35 mph...

It made it to 35 yesterday, with rain on the ice, first day above freezing for some time.

I had a friend who used to describe the weather by caliber. The nicest spring days with lots of sunshine and little wind were "28-30 days". If it was a bit windier, but still nice days to be outside, they were "32-40 days". Here on the left coast, today might be a 32-40 or 38-55 day, wind about 15, temp about 50 and some sunshine. We can see snow on the hills and smell it. That's close enough.

What will you use for bullets?

The 405-Winchester, .400-Whelen and the .400-Niedner all use the same .411" diameter bullet. There is a wide range of them available today from over the counter Hornady to $1 each North Fork.

The Springfield comes in at 8lbs 9oz and the Mauser at 9lbs 1oz, that's going to hurt frown

Michael,
First off that is a great find and as to pad if a Medium pad will work they make the Pachmayer Decelerator 1" in red and I believe it would look wonderful.

Anyone know where there is any Hornady Brass 375 Ruger Basic Box of 50 Manufacturer # 8674.

Everyone seems to be out of it at this time.

This is the same as the Newton brass and will work fine for the .400 Niedner.

I have some .375 H&H that I fire-formed (above the belt) but would like to get some of the straight walled basic Ruger brass.

I like the kick eez (sp?) Pad for function. Not the prettiest thing ever, but they work really well.

That's the one. They are a little spendy, but worth it for a lively gun.
