It looks like my brass hunt is over. If I had been up on modern developments I would have know about the .416 Ruger that uses the same brass as the .375 Ruger. It's available, problem solved.

Harry, Been there had that. Brit plumbing was always just about good enough. Now as I am here in Germany where such thing just don"t happen mainly due to that old Robert Ruark saying of "use enough insulation". I will be back in the UK this week to check on my second home in Dover, i"m expecting something to be wrong/burst. The Dover customs cannot jump on me this time as I will be travelling without any shootin irons. Best for the new year. Martin

MP, I am not sure when your gun was made, but I have a couple of 3/4" thick NoShoc solid red rubber pads, new and unused in the box with screws and plugs. Made from the early or mid 1930s. This pad will not give you the "extra length" you want, but will look proper if the vintage of your gun fits. I would guess you are not going to shoot your gun a bunch, so a Galco velcro pad on top of this would help you when you decide to shoot a box or two. I'll send one to you if it would be usefull.

Thanks Daryl I've just not made up my mind what is the best way to go. I have tried my Galco on it and that would work, I'll let you know if I can use your pad.
I have been thinking of using this one to play with some lead bullets so I may be shooting it some. Full house jacketed, not so much ;-).
This rifle was made most likley in 1940. It turned up in Washington state and I suspect it was made for someone with a trip to Alaska in their plans, way to big for Washington.

When with the kick-eez for just the right LOP plus it's nice and soft. I want to play with this during the summer so a soft pad will help.
