Hello all. I've been lurking for some time now and joined last week. I have several doubles, SxS's and O/U's. Mainly I use these various guns for duck hunting, which is pretty much an all consuming passion for me. Its what got me into carving decoys and building boats.

And now the question part, many years ago, when I turned 18, my father gave me a 12 ga O/U, something called a Universal Overwing. On the barrel it is maked as being imported by Universal of Haliegha Fla and under that it says Brescia Italy. The under side of the barrel has Italian proof marks, but no mfg's name. My question is, does anybody know who made this gun? I've looked as much as I know how on line and in old Blue Books with no results.

Fausti made a lot of "trade" guns, and there are several lesser firms that made many. It is interesting in the fact that Italy and Spain have similar trade tendencies. However there does not seem to be as much "junk" from Italy. There was a lot of very questionable stuff coming here in the 70's from spain. Bresica Italy is quite the gun family.
