Last May I asked you about a Rizzini over and under shotgun I was planning on buying, that was imported by an Indian tribe out of Washington state. They named the line of shotguns Cortona. I ended up buying a Sporting Clays model that was originally priced at $3,000 for $1200. I had paid them $600 for it. About a month ago I called them and told them I needed to finish paying it. They said no, as they were going to send it to me. They were no longer importing them. I supplied them with the name of a dealer in Northern Virginia and about a month ago I picked it up. I was very pleasantly surprised with it. I had been on the web site, in the past, and got to view the guns on line. The gun has wide ventilated rib with what looks like a day glo front sight. The barrels are ported and matte finished. The action is shallow and utilize the barrel selector mechanism as found on the Berettas. The wood looks like Turkish walnut with a solid rubber pad. The stock has a nice tight grain that runs through the pistol grip. It has an adjustable comb stock with a allen wrench and the checkering has no runovers. The foreend release mechanism utilizes a push button on the end of the wood. It came with five screw in chokes, choke wrench, and a fitted plastic carrying case. I will have to wait until the weather gets better to try it on the trap line, but I think I did real good. Talk about a Christmas present to myself. I know this is a Sporting Clays model, but I figure it should do real good on the trap line. Now all I have to do is to take some pictures and download them on to here.

If I understand you correctly, you only have $600 in the gun? If so, congratulations on your deal. Those guns seemed a little oddly done cosmetically and are an unknown name. This is a good example of a gun you have to "explain", but you stole it, so who cares?

Cortona may be a name that's not well-known, but I believe the maker is I. Rizzini (FAIR). Not as well known as B. Rizzini, but definitely not unknown.

The link is the same and it is the same gun, except for the forearm, which has a schnabble and a button at the end to release and lock it in place. I forgot to mention it has an adjustable trigger. That little allan wrench is used to adjust it, along with raising and lowering the comb on the stock. Can't wait for Spring and Summer so I can go to Bull Run Regional Shooting Center and try it out.
