JR,
I wanted something unique. A modern 32 gauge for quail seemed the ticket. The project grew from there. The Poli's were very supportive of the concept and took great care in getting it right. The dollar was stronger when I ordered the gun. The whole project was less than 10k including an Emmbi case. It took 18 months to make and get to me.
I am not done with it yet.
I still haven't gotten around to ordering 32 brass in 2 3/4" from Rocky MTN. I'll need a lead mold for round ball. I already fabricated a 32 ga roll crimper. The loaded round should look something like an old British BPE round. Heck, I may use BP substitue for powder. I am sure the reloading books will be void of suggestions.
My targets of choice will be watermelons, catalopes or any other rotted veggies that lurk in the garden. Maybe a pig hunt with 32 ball one day?
The 32 is scheduled to return to Backwoods Quail in Georgetown, SC next month for a quail/chukar hunt. Last year I doubled on quail in front of friends. I am still smiling.
Joe
