I can't tell from the photos if the gun was in the white. Winfer may have made a mistake there in addition to the confusion about the APUN. I think the writer simply mistook the 586 for a 536. Looking at the gun close up I can see that it would be very easy to do that. I still don't know whether it came from Nobel or Kynoch, but either house is famous, so it probably doesn't matter. As to ruling out a reblue based on the crispness of the gun's markings, I never underestimate the skill of good gunmakers.
