For the gentleman asking about Poli and 28 gauge, I have my story.

Almost 8 years ago, my wife allowed me to order a "bespoke" gun from the Poli's who had come to the Southern SxS. I wanted a 32 gauge for Vintage Cup competition with 28" bbls in IC/Mod.
I was told that the gun could be built on a 28 gauge frame. So I figured, hmmm, how much for another set of barrels in 28? So I could shoot easier to find ammo. It was a lot less than another gun.
Then I though, well heck, in for a penny in for a pound. How about .410 barrels so I could have a small gauge gun that could shoot easy to fine ammo with 2 of 3 barrels?
No problem to make they said, but the .410 barrels will be spaced a little further apart. It looks like a little double rifle with the .410s on it.
There was an issue of balance. The smaller barrels would get thicker affecting swing (MOI). I said that I was more concerned with "feel" than matched barrel length. Let the barrel length change as necessary to keep a constant MOI based on the 32 gauge being 28".
Rich Cole was the importer at the time and did a great job of making all happen.
I ordered a 3 gauge Anson Extra in 28-32-.410. Rich told me to get on the website and pick out my wood. I printed every blank in 8x10 on a color laser, picked out my favorite and then let the wife pick her favorites. She picked 2 out of over 30 and said whichever. Darned if my choice wasn't there.
The gun was proved for 2 3/4" 28, 2 3/4" 32 and 3" .410. Of course there is no such thing as a 2 3/4", 32 gauge for ammo. I know of my gun and 1 other the Poli's made from orders at that show that were prooved for 70mm 32 gauge. It will take some custom brass hulls from Rocky Mountain before I can make 32 ga "Magnums".
I chose the deep engraving and color case hardening. I wanted the gun to ba able to age with grace. As I use it the corners begin to get white from use, but in the engraving the colors are vivid and should be for years.

The gun weighs 5 lb 14 oz in 32 with 28" bbls, the 28 is lighter at 5 lb 12 oz and 29 1/4" bbls, the .410 is the heaviest at 6 lbs and 27.5" bbls. Accoding to Mr. MOI, Don Amos, the difference cannot be perceived between the barrels.

The Poli's truly created for me a unique bespoke gun.

I will order another Poli after I am done providing "parity" to my beloved.

I do shoot this gun. I have doubled on quail with the 32 barrels. It is a blast.

OK so the photos.

Sweet
I do not know if I will be able to sleep tonight.

I have been loading 32 and 24 gauge and find it great.

I do load 11/16 in the 32 gauge and wish the hulls were
70 mm.

Enjoy
Mike

A brilliant plan, flawlessly executed. That is a very fine gun. Your story is all the more extra-ordinary given the level of spousal support and encouragement that you received. Perhaps your wife might talk to mine about the importance of projects such as this?

Thank you for sharing that.

Joe,
Beautiful and unique piece.
I have two Poli's. A 32" Pigeon model, with sideplates and Brileys that I use at Sporting Clays. Also have a 30" 12 Ga., straight grip, with the same engraving as shown above, without the case colors.
Both appear to be terrific guns. Hope that you get a ton of enjoyment out of your fine piece.
