When I put this link in Bable Fish translation on-line French to English, it translates cannons as guns. It confused me a bit.
Also interesting A.J.Defourny and Defourny-Sevrin got the same crossed cannons trade marks.
Re. sending it to US... well, guys, I'd like to put my hand on it as well

Look at the Net about crossed cannons, there are many who like crossed cannons.Look at USA:s uniformmarks for example from 1800-now.

Lennart, your first guess was Spanish proof mark and post successfully deleted after all.
Now you suggested to look at USA uniform marks and all these about English made gun with Belgian name on it!

the US army uses lots of crossed weapons for Mos. designation , cannon for artillery , sabers for cavalry, muskets for infantry , flintlock pistols for military police . Crossed beakers of chimerical weapons …………

This raises a good question though . Is there a chance this may not be a makers mark but a issue marking ?
The French used to place a mark to designate weapons headed for sea service , we / USA, if I recall also had issue marking for ordinance

Well by god I'd never leave the service if they issued weapons like that.
