As of this morning (Wednesday), still no recovery. They have added an airboat to get into the marsh, and have dogs out in the boats now. Probably too early for the dogs to alert on any scent yet. The search is still in full swing though...Geo

Thanks, George. The families involved were lifted in prayer tonight at our little country church's prayer service.

As a parent, I can't imagine bearing up on having a child missing. I'll pray for their strength, and the hope that somehow the boy is still OK. So sad.

When it's time, it's time. I went to a funeral yesterday for a 30-year-old who died working at his computer. No drugs, no health history, no cause of death, just gone. Sad, sad, sad...

Just to update, its day 6 of the search, night and day. Amazing effort for a cash strapped government. Still no body. All they've found is his hat. Heartbreaking!...Geo

A great pity there has been no success in the search George, if nothing else it would have given the family and parents some sense of closure.
A very sincere hat's off to the search teams for perceverence. They must know there is no hope of him being found alive now. It's never a pleasant job, I know, I've done it myself on many occasions in past years serving as a Police Officer. Worst was after I retired and the Pan Am Flight was blown up high over Northumberland before crashing in the Scottish Village of Locherbie.
Hopefully Georges original post and suggestions of safety equipment from several readers will be taken up and perhaps save a life or lives in future.
Harry

The body of James Eunice was discovered this morning in 15 feet of water, still on the bottom of Ocean Pond. Despite all the sonar eqpt., the Air Force's helicoptors with 'forward looking infrared radar, the state of the art USAF mobile command center, and other 21st Century gadgets, he was located now 17 days after he went in the water, by cadaver dogs alerting in the area, and by divers searching a grid around the location of where the dogs alerted.
There has been a tremendous outpouring of love for the family throughout the community in addition to the efforts of local and statewide (GA ans FL)law enforcement as well as the USAF search and rescue. Now maybe the families involved can begin a healing process. Many thanks from me for the kind reaction of this bulletin board.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the young man and his family. Indeed, what a tragedy, what a waste.
