Forehand's "Advanced Competition Shooting" is a great book with some information about box bird and Columbaire shooting. Everyone should own this book. Join the PA Flyers Association and attend a shoot. Measure the fields and count the traps. Our club uses seven traps. Seven is enough. Five is not enough because shooters can read the traps in a five bird race if you only use five traps. Now is the time to attend a shoot because PA shoots are not often held after the beginning of the ATA season. Some people think the PA flyer season is temperature oriented. In truth, it is ATA oriented. If you send in your dues payment now, you will have a schedule before you know it. No fuss, no muss.
