F2 Subsound

I think their 1oz 12ga F2 Subsound is about 6400psi. These are all 2-5/8" shells and should be fine in 2-1/2" chambers. The fine print on the High Pheasant says it is for modern guns, so figure on higher pressures.

If you can use 2-3/4" shells, Fiocchi has a Low Recoil Training Load in 12ga, 7/8oz that comes in around 6900psi (call to confirm current specs). I think it also comes in 7.5 and 8 shot.

Reloading is by far the best way to go. If volume is not a consideration then a simple MEC 600 and a decent receipe (I'll bet'cha a lot would be offered here if you asked) will put you in business. Hulls are usually free at a gun club, a few pounds of powder, a little shot, wads, and primer and you're off to the races. Biggest advantage over ready made ammunition is you can change it at will to fit whatever shooting you'll be doing. Besides, it's really a fun pastime and no too mentally taxing (proof: I do it). With the same hulls I load my 12's to toss anything from 7/8 oz at clays to 1 1/8 oz for pheasant and keep it all vintage friendly.

I hasver used the B&P shells for years with great satisfaction but have never learned what the "Gordon Hull System" is.

Can someone explain?

By the way, the High Pheasants are really nice shells and all one needs.

They also have a "dispersante" shell now.

RST is the way to go, those boys are class all the way. You'll see them at all the major double gun shoots, very friendly and helpful.
