I cannot seem to pass up a good looking set of damascus barrels. I am still learning how to rebrown. I always have an eye out for a nice pattern in need of rebrowning.
Today, I spotted a damascus set of barrels in the gun rack today while shopping at Midsouth Guns.
Upon investigating, it turned out to be an Crass Ithaca 16 gauge extractor in Grade 2. I though, hmm, small gauge, graded, clean bores, checkering still sharp, more than a hint of case color, nice engraving and damascus to boot. It came home.
Walt when you read this, 6 lb 11oz, 2 9/16" chambers, 28" M/F (.020/.030), 14" LOP to original buttplate, SN 92101. I am assuming it is unmolested since 1902.
I didn't hurt that I didn't have any 16s in the safe.
