Steve,
I was a little worried before it started. Due to having to wait for online bids, the auction went VERY slow. He did not spend a lot of time talking up each item and trying to get the most $ for it, but he did give a very slow three count before dropping the hammer to give the internet bids time to get in. I could see that if you had a slow connection it could cause problems. There were only about 40 people in attendance, and only 4 or 5 doing the bidding. Probably about half the guns sold to online bidders.
Overall I got a very creepy feeling about the whole deal and was glad to get my rifles and get the heck out of there.
On the plus side, the NcNeal guy who owned most of the collection was a real shooter and gun nut, so although the guns were sometimes well used and modified for his purpose, they were well taken care of and most of the bores that I looked at were in very good condition. My understanding is that the guns were in storage for the last 6 years and before being put in storage many of them were greased up and wrapped in plastic.
