Just a brief note to say a big "Thank you" to all of you who bought my book Vintage Guns..... The first print run was 5,000 copies and they have all been sold. I believe there are one or two unsigned copies which may become collectors' items.
Another 2000 copies are going to press now. It has sold better than expected in the USA and not as well as hoped here in the UK!
I just signed the contract for the next one The British Boxlock Gun & Rifle and hope to have it finished in September ready for a Spring 2012 release.

Well great Dig. I hope you have all the A&D variations patents in the new text?
Kind Regards,

I love beautiful books but now I have no place to keep them. Is it possible, Dig, that this could be one of the first vintage gun books to come out on Kindle or Nook?

I purchased this book recently, as I started to get interested in English guns, and before I signed up here. Unfortunately I have not had the time to sit down and read it cover to cover, but I have been picking away at sections of it here and there. I find it to be very straightforward and extremely helpful in building my knowledge base. The illustrations are wonderful too. Really, its a newbie's dream.
Thanks for a great book!

Dig, your second book is going to have a tough act to follow. It was great! Just sign me up for the boxlock issue!

Selling 5,000 copies of a relatively pricey fine-gun book with very little mainstream marketing is very very impressive. Well done, indeed.
The book's success speaks volumes to your writing skills and your knowledge -- and your generosity in sharing the latter on BBS forums such as this one.
With the passing of Boothroyd and Hill and McIntosh it is nice to see a young authoritative voice emerging in this field.
Congratulations and very much look forward to the boxlock title.

Dig, I knew the book would be a good one since I had been reading your articles in the DGJ. The book is a straight forward approach for the novice buyer of English guns. I can say with experience that there is a lot of things you better know before buying, and your book covers all that. I look forward to getting my autograhed copy soon and hope to meet you at the Southern in April. Mike Proctor
