Re- the Fox Buttplate-

Case Hardened then "French Grayed" ( removed colors,not sure of overall effect of the remaining oxide hardening / seems to have a harder surface than when engraved however).

Thank you gentlemen for your positive evaluations, it was a gift for my father (Xmas) - he appeared pleased with the result.
