Dave is 100% right Vic. I had a few plane rides this week, so I brought Gun Craft to read again. The combination of clear explanations on some (to me) complex topics, combined with a low-key style and some funny stories really make that book a pleasure to read. I laugh out loud every time I read Dryhurst's response to you calling a G-Gun a boxlock. I can just feel those couple seconds of tension before he, I'm sure, attempts to bite his tongue and reply in a gentlemanly fashion.....

Of course, without guys like CrossChisles and other untold craftsmen, there'd be nothing to read because there'd be nothing to write about. So, all in all, I'd say we're rather lucky in this little corner of the DGJ world.

Vic,
At the risk of being redundant, like DT and as I mentioned not long ago, your value as a gun writer has definitely increased on its own merit and not only due to the fact that we are losing writers that all were compared to. Your understanding of fine guns combined with the human touch of the craftsman makes very interesting reading of a time we can only imagine.
