It's an R10 that has spent some time against a buffing wheel. It should look like the case colored R10 in this photo:

Good, servicable double, if it fits your friend-that said, they usually don't, and a steel rod running down the wrist keeps them from being fitted by bending the stock.
Serial number and 70mm chamber marking point to 1950s production. Safe to use with modern 2 3/4 ammunition, but, lighter loads are more comfortable to shoot.
