What product or process do you recommend to protect case coloring from fading?

Oscar Gaddy always used a spray on Lacquer. I find model builders lacquer cut 1 part lacquer to 2 parts lacquer thinner applied with a camel hair artist brush the easiest to use without removing stocks and forend wood.

Formby's Tung Oil provides a very durable, hard gloss finish. After hardening, lightly wiping with steel wool will dull the finish if desired.

The Lacquer I use is a satin so it has a muted sheen to it.

Oscar Gaddy used Behlen's spray lacquer. He also used thinned TruOil.
