Fancy meeting you here! We had lunch with Salopian and his Bride today when your name came up and I twigged.
Woodland Street Club and GKN Rec. seem a lifetime away; but we had good times.
regards Eug
Thank you, very kind. Mine's a pint

Eug A long time ago indeed. Am paying now for rugby played at GKN rec played cricket there also, one of my uncles was killed by a cricket ball in West Smethwick park hit him in heart and dropped dead. You were involved with the Lotus with V-8 I seem to recall? Woodland st club was just around corner from my house and that was one of teams we shot against in Warley Air rifle league I still have trophy`s from the 60`s. Also had the pleasure of shooting with Salopian earlier this year and last when I was over visiting my Mother who still lives in same house. Thanks for memories Pedler

The W & S Brady cases I have seen supplied with the gun were usually of a pale green canvas type.
Lagopus, I take it Brady no longer makes hard cases? At least they don't show up on their website. I would like to get one for my 700 which I think will no longer be unfired come next season. Do Brady cases come up for sale from time to time? I've dome a Google search but all I come up with is legal cases involving the Brady Bill... thanks, Rob

Just a couple of points to clarify. Although this thread is titled 'Webley 700 for Salopian' it is not my gun. This gun is in Canada and is probably for sale, contact Pedler for more details. Thank you Michael (Lagopus) for posting the pictures. Eugene, the lady was my bride, now she is my shooting companion, Picker up, Manager, Boss & Sponsor. Pedler, not sure if Eugene was involved with the GKN 48D Europa, I actually was involved in the build of it down in Hethel at Lotus as a mobile GKN product advert ( really it was just a toy for the GKN MD).

not sure if Eugene was involved with the GKN 48D Europa Nope, I was involved in fighting vehicles, particularly with Alvis on the Scimitar series and a bit with GKN on Warrior. Only engine involvement was with BMW on the ceramic / nickel cylinder lining project ... what was a flop. Eug

Salopian, I'll keep my eyes open. I bought mine from the estate of a deceased friend via his executors on a sealed bid. So it's not one I wish to part with. I did have a 26" one in tip top order but for some reason I shot very badly with it. I never could get along with shorter barrels. I thought it would have been ideal in the pigeon hide. Good luck with convincing the other half. They can be full of surprises. I was in a gunshop in Winchester, Hampshire last year and happened to admire a little 20 bore and was told to treat myself. After getting up off the floor that's exactly what I did.
Recoil Rob, Brady's is, believe it or not, now a one man operation. Up some back stairs in what is left of the Birmingham gun quarter. Just two small rooms. I guess he will make whatever is ordered. I was lucky to buy one that had been in store in a gunshop for many years and still in its original wrappings. I want to fit it to my 700 when I can find the right lable. Lagopus.....
