an "Orvis" Arrieta 16 ga. w/ 26" barrels - round body with what appears to be the 871 engraving pattern.
Such a long, long time to be gone, and a short time to be there.

Wild Skies, I thought you were going to tell us that Arrieta sent you a case at no charge. Believe me, that thought of requesting a case has crossed my mind! Given their track record, they probably would! But, like I said, I can't stand all this service! . . . so I'm gonna pass on that idea. Bonus Pic: Lock from the 20-ga. Arrieta 570 RB above.

treblig, back in '91 or 2 I was going to buy an Arrieta. At that point only Jack Jansma was importing them (I think). But I rationalized it was too expensive(!) and opted for a Red Label instead.
I have a few regrets, take a guess if this is one of them.

You want customer service - I have a late Remington Parker VHE 20ga that I have owned and shot a lot in the past 30 years. Haven't needed any repairs and neither did the guy who owned it for the first 40 years. Best customer service is never needing any. I also have a Model 32 Kreighoff bought new in 1964. Never have needed customer service on that one either and it has something over 250,000 rounds through it as a skeet and hunting gun. I guess I have just been lucky on picking great guns.

Just as an aside Des Mills in his book 'Amateur Gunsmithing' Barnes & Mills highly recommends Arrieta. ( if it isn't in his book it's in another article he wrote). As a Purdey trained gunsmith and Churchill worker for many years he knows a thing or two about good quality guns. I own one of their cheaper models which was given to Lord Bradford by King Juan Carlos as a gift before it came into my hands.Fourty plus years on and used a little every year it still is in pristine condition. I wrote to them complimenting them on their fine craftsmanship but never received a reply. Yes you've guessed it, went to my mailbox and their was Number 2 with a note saying with their compliments NC.
Sorry guys couldn't resist the last paragraph. No offence intended.
