1.) Does it really have 3" chambers and weigh 6 pounds? 2.) If it does I wonder what the chamber wall thicknesses are the ends. http://www.cabelas.com/product/William-P...%3Bcat103580280 Best, Mike

Possibly they read the 3 Tons as inches. The gun was originally 2 1/2"

It is 3 tons pressure per square inch - there is a small square followed by the " (inch) sign. Birmingham nitro proof - 2 1/2" chambers - according to my book between 1954 and 1989

I wonder how they arrived at that price. JR

Yup. 2 1/2" and not reproofed, per the flats. Of course it's possible someone on this side of the Pond punched them to 3"--which would have a significantly negative impact on the price, to a knowledgeable buyer.

Nice $600 gun for someone who doesn't know where to shop for $600 guns.

Three inch chambers with 26" barrels and .007" choke in each? Where's the sense in that?
Short barreled magnums don't make good company in a duck blind.

And after the barrels were punched from 2-1/2" to 3" on a six pound 12 bore what is the wall thickness at the muzzle end of the chambers?

I've recently contacted a location of that merchant's, about a 10b described as a 3". Upon inquiring about it, I was informed that the chamber length was essentially a guess, and that there was no means on the premises to measure the chambers. It would be advisable to simply put "N/A" rather than incorrect and potentially harmful information in the description.
