April 7, arrived in western Massachusetts
The cover is definitely the most garish one to date. Surprised me at first.
Number of pages the now "standard" 157
Haven't had a chance to peruse yet, just a quick flip-through. Diggory Hadoke seems to have a lengthy article.
Seyfried's a falling block piece, I think (I told you, "quick flip-through!)
Bell's was a surprise. Subject is waterfowling. At one point shows a picture of his battery of waterfowling guns, Eight of them. Nary a one has damascus barrels. Also missing, and I could be mistaken about this one; any gun with hammers.
Now I want to read the damn thing and it's 20 minutes past midnight. I've gotta fight the urge and try to get some sleep if tomorrow is going to count.

Obviously my mailman has an interest in double guns. Maybe tomorrow in MD.

Think my mailman is reading mine as well and must be a pretty slow reader. Saturday came and went with no Journal.

Same here. My next hope is April 11, unless that is a Federal holiday I don't know about.

Mine arrived Thursday and I'm almost done reading it. Ahhh... life is good.
In reading the W. & C. Scott & Son article by John Campbell I was surprised to see on page 118 an illustration of the Scott patented Gas Check System and the caption mentions that this feature is also seen on other British maker's guns, the one pictured being a Holland & Holland, but no mention is made of the Scott patented Gas Check System having been used on any American made guns. What a coincidence that on Tuesday, while on business some 1500 miles from my home in Massachusetts, I was fortunate enough to examine a privately owned Parker Bros. A-Grade top-action hammer gun with this exact same "Gas Check System" however no mention is made of it in the PGCA Research Letter. The gentleman for whom the gun was made however, was extremely well-connected in the national and probably international shooting community so, it is not out of the realm of possibility that he may have sent his Parker to England to have it machined in such a manner.
