I thought "chumley" was a joke said in the spirit of the thread i.e some of those English words are pronounced a long way from their spelling.
Mike, I was born and raised in MB. Where in the province are you? Any problems with water this spring? My entire life in Manitoba I lived on the Red. Flood threats just seem normal. I moved back there from Toronto with an Ontario girl 10 years ago. Thought it was funny how nervous she was about the spring water levels. We were on the river but inside the floodway. Duff Roblin was my uncle...that meant for family solidarity I had to have confidence the floodway would handle whatever nature threw at it. First winter there a fellow dropped by who had grown up in our house in the forties. He told my wife about paddling in the front door and out the french doors to the back yard in 1950. She never relaxed after that. LOL
