Michael, I have a '94 short rifle barrel and fore end in .30-30. Unfortunately, it also looks like a perfect bore, but it you want to make a short .38-55, this would be an place to start. If you want a longer barrel, you already have the pieces.
I had Rheto Buehler replace this barrel with one by Niedner, Dowagiac, and then liked it well enough to have him make new wood, too. It is now a companion to the '73 Steven built about 15 years ago.

This is the writeup on the 64-38/55 the only one I have seen but then I'm not a Winchester guy. It sold for $8400.
*EXTREMELY RARE SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 64 DELUXE. SN 1328489. Cal 38-55. 24" rnd bbl, 2/3 mag, stippled front ramp with ivory bead sight and hood, 22 series rear sight with elevator. Left side of bbl below sight marked "WINCHESTER/PROOF STEEL-MODEL 64-WINCHESTER/TRADEMARK". Right side "MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN, CONN." Top of bbl, forward of proof mark is hand stamped "38-55". Standard receiver mounted with lightly figured straight grain walnut, checkered pistol grip, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, checkered steel buttplate, inlet swivel base with swivel. Standard forend with checkered side panels, nosecap with integral swivel base and swivel. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and mag tube retain nearly all of its fine blue finish with just a couple minor nicks & light scratches. Receiver retains 95% of its orig blue finish with some thinning on sharp edges, a series of light scratches on upper left side and a minor rub mark at the rear of upper left side. Stock is sound with good checkering, some typical minor light nicks & scratches, some tiny chipping at toe and retains orig finish with a light coat of added oil. Forend is sound with good checkering, some typical minor handling marks and retains orig finish blending with some hand worn patina across bottom. Mechanics are crisp with a nice shiny bore. 4-41020 BDT6 (8,000-12,000)

Terry,
I need the barrel as long as possible, don't have a Niedner 38-55 barrel laying around do you ;-)? This project started as a cup of coffee, I met John at the gunshop for a cup and there it was.
I forgot to say the barrel on this has the Winchester mail order proof so Winchester did not put it together.

MP If it were mine, and I wanted it in 38-55, I would take that orig barrel punch it out to 38-55, rechamber, polish off the 30 WFC Cal markings, and mail order barrel proofs, have 38-55 restamped with Winchester Style cal markings and enjoy. Quick & Simple V/R

I've looked through my loading stuff and have nothing for a 38-55.
I'll start looking for dies and brass first by asking here if anyone has any 38-55 stuff for sale?

Would be easy to upgraded to look like the deluxe auction rifle. Simple grip remodel, checker, the appropriately distress. Should bring a good price, eh?

Found 60 pcs WW 38-55 brass, once-fired, with cannelure, 2.075" length, in excellent shape but sorry no dies, apparently I already gave them to some deserving fellow or else they grew legs (grin). Also an unopened box of Barnes 0.377" dia 250-gr flat-nose SPs, will include them also for your entertainment or scrapping or whatever. These Barnes 0.377s shot extremely well in my original early Marlins, FWIW. Regards, Joe
