I had one, after a fashion. I bought a prewar French 16 over the net a couple months ago, the seller having represented there was some bore pitting but it was ready to go hunting. When I got it and cleaned the bores to get a good look, I decided a smith should look at it more carefully. I sent it off to Mike Orlen - just the barrels, actually, - and he made clear to me it was a no-go, esp b/c of a couple deep pits near one chamber. To his credit, the seller took it back, refunded all my money and covered all the shipping costs.
I like having all my eyes and fingers - I don't want to end up like that hand on the Elsie site, short a fingertip. Even though I liked that gun a lot, I'm a lot better off without it, and happier, too.
