Given two guns of equal condition the Parker will surely be more expensive so there is little sense in picking it instead of the Sterlingworth.

Big JOKE on the Ithaca. Like trying to put a Yugo in the same class as a Buick or Mercury. Good one, ha ha ha. I gotta feeling some of these guys are going to take exception to having their Foxes and Parkers likened to a Yugo!!  My NID sees a lot more sky than I ever imagined it would!!!

I own both. I prefer my Sterlingworths, but if you find a nice Trojan first, don't walk away. Personally, I think the Sterlingworth compares more with the V grade Parkers than the Trojan, but that's another can of worms.

If you're referring to some Flues guns, HJ, I doubt whether anyone has seen a 5 1/2# Trojan 20ga either. Ithaca changed models to the NID when shotshells changed and pressures rose in the 20's. And I've never heard of a cracked receiver on either a Nitro Special or a Western Long Range, both less expensive guns than either the Trojan or the Sterlingworth--and lots more of them made than entry-level Parkers and Foxes combined.
