Given two guns of equal condition the Parker will surely be more expensive so there is little sense in picking it instead of the Sterlingworth.

I gotta feeling some of these guys are going to take exception to having their Foxes and Parkers likened to a Yugo!! grin grin

On the subject of hammers, can you imagine how many moving parts would be in a hammer designed and built by Parker?

If it ain't in the same class; it's knocking at the door. And some would say, "It's in the door"; including me, a Sterly and NID owner. Speaking of class,do you have any; making a remark like that to Walt?

I own both. I prefer my Sterlingworths, but if you find a nice Trojan first, don't walk away. Personally, I think the Sterlingworth compares more with the V grade Parkers than the Trojan, but that's another can of worms.

If you're referring to some Flues guns, HJ, I doubt whether anyone has seen a 5 1/2# Trojan 20ga either. Ithaca changed models to the NID when shotshells changed and pressures rose in the 20's. And I've never heard of a cracked receiver on either a Nitro Special or a Western Long Range, both less expensive guns than either the Trojan or the Sterlingworth--and lots more of them made than entry-level Parkers and Foxes combined.
