Great pics. I have been fishing around Coyhaique for a few years now. Usually I come down late march early April. May stay an extra week to hunt next time. Does your friend rent guns? What does he charge for a week of hunting? What about shells?

Love the hats. That hare is gigantic. Thanks for putting something else in the picture for scale.

Looks like a great trip. Thanks.

Khanh,

we paid US$350 per day aproximatedly, all included, guiding, driving, meals and dogs (no hard drinks, international calls, etc). These rates were quoted in Ch Pesos, it may vary a little in US$. To this point he has only a Remington 870 (for pigs maily), but we spoke the issue and he is amenable to obtain a double shotgun in the future. Shotshells would be not much of a problem, they are left in few quantities by other hunters, and new ones are $12-15 a box of 25. I think that it is worth considering bringing your own gun, it would help a lot as regards to hunting permits that come together with gun entrance permit. LAN Airlines as a reputation for responsible gun handling, and flies from the US East Coast. I will ask for more details to a friend of mine that runs a Red deer game preserve in Osorno and gets several foreigners a year.

On another subject,we have to comply with game limits only as regards to Magellan Goose, 10 per expedition; pheasants have (unfortunatedly) no quota limit. Brown hares are regarded a pest so there is no limit either, as with wild boar.

Hope this helps,

To the friendly posts I have just to reply to all: you are wellcome!
