I use a small version for cleaning eyeglasses and jewelry but once (ONCE!) I made the mistake of removing the lenses from the frames and resting them directly on the bottom of the tank. Result, frosted lenses. Sonic vibration was enough to move the plastic lenses around and scratch them to the point where they're now unusable.
