Hi, this wax was also recommended to me. But as car polishes do contain some abrasive ingredents, I was a bit leery. I e-mail them about the Gold Class Carnuba Wax and here's what they had to say:

"Dear Greg
I first want to thank you for your interest in Meguiar's products and I hope your experience is a pleasant one.

The Gold Class Carnauba Wax does not contain abrasives and will not harm your finish on your guns. It is completely safe for you to use and it will not harm the designs on your guns at all.

Once again thank you for your interest in Meguiars. If there is anything else we can do for you please let me know. Also, if you get the chance to send any pictures of the car you are working on I would love to see them.

Seems to be good to go. Just an FYI for anyone interested.

All the best!

Greg

Thanks for doing the foot work on Meguires for me. grin I did my barrels with it and they really shine. I do my Mercedes with Meguires once a year in the spring and it shines like a million bucks.

Waxes and polishes are two entirely different products. A polish (which usually contains a very fine abrasive) is used to remove oxidation and bring the paint to a high luster prior to the application of a protective wax.

Anybody try Colonite Wax ? It's the best longest lasting wax I have used.
