Similar to JC's post: I bought a 9.3x74R double back in '78 that had been "liberated"'by a local GI in WWII and brought home in his duffle bag. A machinist in Starkville, MS took pity on a poor college student and made a base with set screws to fit the claw mounts. They were designed for a set of Leopold bases I had along with a 3 power Leopold scope. They are not as "sexy" as the origionals but for $35 they have served me well for many years. I also bought some 9.3 brass from a retired professor who had bought them to fire form for his Winchester 405. It was a Lyon and Lyon under leIver double in the maker's case, I should have taken out a loan and bought the gun instead of the brass.
