I have a Leupold 3x9 Compact (now Ultralight) on a Model 70 Carbine. It is an excellent scope, but next time I will get the 2x7.
Is your Remington a factory stocked Mannlicher?
I do love a Mannlicher stock. I have a factory Model 70 Mannlicher (about 2500 made from '68 to '72). It's a joy to use.

The above blank is quartersawn, claro. Quite dense and its been drying for 3 years. My moisture gauge says 12% currently, but I'm still going to let it go two more years. The blank is 41" long.
