jones: this was an attempt to duplicate early parker bright case colors. very few early parkers exist with bright colors, so it is understandable that you do not appreciate what you are seeing here.

i also know that it is not necessary to re harden metal in order to recolor it. You are absolutely correct...however you call them "restored case colours" but they are most likely temper colors, so if you want to endorse this type of work then please just call it what it is. By the way....these are restored case colours  Best CJ

Ed I have about quite a few (ie over 10) Parker guns that are 90% or better condition and yes one is new in the box. Many Parker collectors have seen some of the guns and all consider them great as far as condition goes. And you saying that few Parkers exsit is not true and I do appreciate what I am seeing and your colors are some of the poorest examples that I have ever seen.....

ted: as a matter of fact, this gun is tight with or without the forend installed. also, i have seen guns that are loose with the forend removed. however, when the forend is installed, the gun is tight. i see no good reason to repair a gun, so long as it is tight and safe to shoot when fully assembled and ready to fire. or in other words, IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT! however, if you want the top lever to the right for cosmetic reasons, then it is your right to spend your money as you see fit.

eis: please note, i said few EARLY parkers with bright case colors exist. i am talking about guns from the 1890 era. most that i have seen have dark or faded colors. if you have a circa 1890 parker with bright original colors, i would appreciate seeing some pictures. i will pass them on to old ed. maybe he can do a better job next time.

speaking of parker case colors, take a look at gunsamerica item 947494037. this is a nice example of circa 1910 parker case colors, which of course are not the same as those from earlier and later production eras.
