The picture was not taken against a mirror. The lever is to the right as it should be. A left opening top lever is as scarce as "truth in advertising". Depending on the year of the ad, the site would be Griffin and Howe workroom or the Griffin and Howe shop at Abercrombie and Fitch at 45th and Madison. I don't know what year G&H moved to the Abercrombie and Fitch's seventh floor. The first time I visited A&F as a 14 year old in 1960, Griffin and Howe had their shop at A&F, with the door in the back left corner of the Leo Martin Gun Room.
