A few pics after restoration - I deliberately did not go for a complete recondition of the wood, but I rather used some - pretty old - BLO to refinish the stock after stripping the varnish, hence the pretty dark colour.
As to the metal, it was covered in a light coat of surface rust, but some very fine steel wool and oil helped to clean that up beautifully. It still has quite a bit of the original blueing left.
At the end, some pics with its brother - the newer one is the darker rifle. Now still some 1998 to go...
